Francis Finnegan RIP

Requiem Mass for Francis Finnegan RIP

Sydney, Australia, formerly Woodquay, Sylane

It was with great shock and sadness that we learned of the sudden and unexpected passing of Francis Finnegan in Sydney, Australia, formerly of Woodquay, Sylane.
Francis played for our club at under age level in the 1980's, and was a member of the first team to represent our club in 1984, when he lined out with the U-14 team. Francis was also a member of the victorious Minor team in 1988, and Junior B team in 1991, that both captured County titles. Although he left Sylane many years ago, Francis remained a loyal supporter of our club.
We extend our deepest sympathy to his partner Bernadette, daughters Noirín and Caitlin, in Australia, and to his brothers Tommy, John, Michael and Noel, and their families.
May He Rest In Peace.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.

A young UK singer, songwriter and saxophonist, Kathleen Devine from Chester, claims to reveal the secrets about Irishmen in a toe-tapping, hand clapping, light-hearted song appropriately titled The Irishmen.

"Hopefully it will provide even a little bit of light relief for people who listen to it, sing-along with it, dance to it or watch the video anywhere in the world. It's a time when we all need some good humour in our lives again amid all the doom and gloom," she said.
